Welcome!
Thank you for your interest in learning more about the OutGrown Board of Directors. We are a relatively young nonprofit organization, and as such there are a lot of exciting ways to be involved in our work that will have an immediate and lasting impact. We have several open seats for this cycle. Based on the organization’s needs, we are especially seeking candidates who have experience in one of the following areas:
non-profit finance and accounting, especially with knowledge of improving and streamlining systems to support growing organizations
grant writing and fundraising
public health or healthcare background, in particular perinatal care and services
Above all, we need candidates who have the time and capacity to dedicate to engaging as a Board volunteer. We’re a Working Board, which means that each member takes part in active ways as we continue to build systems and practices to support a strong, healthy, mission-driven organization. (We estimate the time commitment at about 10 hours per month, with some variation depending on your focus areas.) Board members choose committees or workgroups based on their skills and talents. We also believe that the best engagement happens when Board members are working on things that matter to them and help advance their goals and interests.
You can learn more about our organization and staff, our board philosophy, and current board members through the links provided below. We’ve also outlined a basic “what to expect” timeline for the Board application cycle this year.
The first step is to apply is to complete a brief information form (linked below), and our Board Development Committee will be in touch with you soon.
We look forward to getting acquainted!
With respect,
A’Nova Ettien, Board Chair through 2023, and Whitney Dorer, incoming Board Chair 2024-2025
